Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders are a group of mental health conditions characterized by excessive, persistent, and often irrational fear or worry about future events or situations. People with anxiety disorders may experience intense and overwhelming feelings of fear, apprehension, and uncertainty, which can significantly impact their daily life and functioning.

People with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) have intrusive and unwanted thoughts, images, or urges (obsessions), and engage in repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) in an attempt to alleviate their anxiety. Common obsessions include fears of contamination, harm to oneself or others, and a need for symmetry or order. Common compulsions include excessive cleaning, checking, and arranging.

It's important to note that different types of anxiety disorders may require different approaches to therapy. MHRS can help determine the best approach for an individual's specific needs.
