Daniela Montenegro, MHC-LP
Therapist & Coach
I am a warm, collaborative, and empathetic therapist. I aim to be supportive and goal-oriented and believe we all possess the ability to make progress toward positive change. Having support along that journey can go a long way in achieving the goals we set for ourselves. My goal is to help you find a healthy perception of yourself and strengthen your relationships so that you can know yourself as peaceful, complete, and safe. I believe deeply in the importance of creating a safe space for you while also building a strong therapeutic alliance. The healing/growth process is not always the most comfortable but there is nothing more empowering than taking our power
back.
I am passionate about this work and feel honored to be able to support and witness my clients' growth!
I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds. During this time I have worked with clinical issues including chronic stress and anxiety, trauma, PTSD, depression, mood disorders, and various personality disorders, along with academic and employment experiences. I use trauma-focused interventions including psychodynamic,
dialectical, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I grew up in New Jersey and obtained my BA in criminal justice and psychology at Rutgers University. I then completed my Master’s degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling at John Jay College. During my free time, you’ll find me enjoying a cup of coffee usually accompanied
by a psychological thriller novel, or looking through DIY videos for new ways to craft a mason
jar.
